Design Principal at HOK, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C | Leadership Board Member
Adaeze has been fascinated with designing spaces from a young age. As she honed her design capabilities, Adaeze quickly understood the key component to being a strong designer was to strengthen her technical knowledge. This meant going against the traditional split between design and production and becoming the whole architect. As a result she effortlessly switches between being the Project Designer to the Project Architect and back again. She is proficient in Revit using it as a design tool at the beginning of her projects along with SketchUp and Enscape to create renderings and animations. In her role as Design Principal at HOK, Adaeze is responsible for shaping the design culture and framework to elevate the design produced at HOK. She is a sustainability champion working to infuse sustainable strategies into the design process. Her commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion results in productive teams that meet the needs of the client, users, and the community. Adaeze understands the importance of mentorship and giving back to the architecture and design community as a speaker, mentor, and juror for Prairie View A&M University and California State University Long Beach.
