Architect (Senior Associate), AIA, NOMA, NCARB | Leadership Board Member

Valarie Franklin, AIA, NOMA, is an architect and Senior Associate at the AIA 2021 Architecture Firm Award winner, Moody Nolan. Valarie is founding member and immediate past chapter President of the Nashville Chapter of the National Organization for Minority Architects (NOMAnash). Valarie is a Tuskegee University graduate and brings over 21 years of experience with wide variety of experience including healthcare, corporate, religious, and institutional architectural design. Valarie is a Nashville native is an advocate of others. She serves her native city of Nashville on Metro Development and Housing Agency’s (MDHA) Design Review Committee as well as the Plumbing Board of Appeals. She is deeply attuned to the political, social, and cultural pulse of her community and finds the time to make impactful contributions to her industry and community. Valarie strives to continually be an asset to the Nashville community and to be both a voice for and a sounding board for minorities in our city. Valarie also serves on the Board of Directors for AIA TN and the Civic Design Center, and she has been recognized by AIA National as a Citizen Architect.
