Portia Strahan

Principal Architect and Architecture Program Lecturer at UMD

Portia Strahan, AIA, NOMA, LEED AP grew up in Prince George County Maryland and is a licensed architect in Washington, DC and Maryland. Her interest in art and math led her to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at Cornell University. She received her Master’s in Architecture at the University of Utah. Over the past 15 years she has practiced architecture in small to large size firms in the DMV area working on a variety of different projects from school additions to interior renovations. She recently founded POM Studio Architects, a general design firm based in the Washington DC metropolitan area where she also works on a variety of different project types and teaches architecture at University of Maryland. She recently moved back to Prince George’s County Maryland and resides there with her partner and two dogs.
