Tazalika te Reh

Architect & Cultural Studies Scholar

Tazalika M. te Reh is an architect and a cultural scientist. In a holistic approach, she explores the intersections of Architecture, Space, and the Racial, humanizing the built environment through historical and archival research. Her interdisciplinary background includes architectural practice, teaching, mentorship, curating art exhibitions, and visual real estate-marketing. Currently, Tazalika is realizing an architectural project in Germany, connecting a historic built structure with critical urban studies, and she teaches Global Citizenship at the Global Citizenship Alliance in Austria.


Born in the US to a Black teacher of Jamaican-Honduran descent and a White German artist, Tazalika holds a PhD in cultural studies from the University of Dortmund. To pursue her academic research she received fellowships by the Salzburg Global Seminar in 2013, and by the Mercator Stiftung in 2012. In 2014, she was a visiting researcher at Columbia University and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, New York.
