Zakiya Wiggins

Project Architect and Freelance Artist

Zakiya Wiggins, NOMA, AIA, LEED AP, is a licensed architect, an artist and an advocate based in Raleigh, NC. She serves as the President of the North Carolina Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NCNOMA) and as a Board Member of [Diversify Architecture]. Zakiya was in the 2019 cohort of the AIA Virginia Emerging Leaders in Architecture Program, and a 2017 recipient of the prestigious Alpha Rho Chi Medal from Morgan State University where she received her Master of Architecture. She is also a proud alumna of North Carolina State University. During her nearly five years of professional practice, Zakiya has worked on a range of public safety, higher education, community, stem and technology, and pharmaceutical projects spanning across the United States. Outside of the office, she is passionate about increasing access to the profession of architecture through mentorship, awareness and encouraging licensure amongst her peers and mentees.
